Seahawks Insider

Seahawks defensive coordinator John Marshall held the same job in Carolina when FS Deon Grant was breaking into the league. That's one reason Grant could be a natural fit for the Seahawks. KING-5 is calling this one nearly signed, but an agreement has not yet been reached. Only rarely do these things break down once they are this close, but the Kris Dielman situation proves it can happen. By the way, landing Grant would not rule out Brian Russell, another free-agent safety who visited Seattle (side note: Grant and Russell share an agent). If and when a deal is done, we'll let you know right away.
