The league has decided not to fine Vikings LB E.J. Henderson for the hit that knocked Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck out for three weeks with a sprained knee. Hasselbeck said he thought it was a dirty hit. Henderson said the hit was not dirty. The league didn't think there was enough evidence to fine Henderson for the hit. There was no penalty on the play. The league sometimes does issue fines even when a play does not draw a penalty, but that was not the case on this one. Replays showed Seahawks FB Mack Strong pushing Henderson on the play. What we do not know, and what Hasselbeck said only Henderson could know, was whether Henderson intentionally slammed into the knee.
