Taylor Graham scored just before halftime and Sebastien LeToux finished things off in the 83rd as the Sounders, playing at Starfire, sent big-league Chivas USA home to L.A. and out of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Next up for the Sounders are the MLS East cellar-dwellers Kansas City Wizards 7 p.m. July 8 at Qwest Field.

The Wizards needed extra time – and two penalty kicks! – to outlast the Carolina Railhawks, 2-4. The Hawks finished the match with 10 players after a 108th minute sendoff.
