The Seattle Sounders opened the USL playoffs with a 2-1 win over Montreal on Friday night at Starfire, taking a one-goal lead in the two-game total-goals series.

That means a Sounders win or tie in the secoind match, Sunday afternoon at Montreal will send them on to the USL semifinals. If Montreal wins by more than one goal, the Impact advances, and if Montreal wins by exactly one goal, the teams will play series overtime to settle it.

More details are available at the Sounders website.
