Primarily, our coverage here will focus on the City of Seattle’s attempt to bring the NBA back to Seattle. But we also will provide updates on the Portland Trail Blazers, the Oklahoma City Thunder and area players plying their trade for other teams in the NBA.

Keeping an eye on the NBA and Seattle's efforts to get back into the game
Friday, November 9th, 2007

The words is apparently out on Kevin Durant around the league on how to defend him -- beat him up. Andrei Kirilenko has played the rookie physical, with Durant ending up on his back several times during the game.

Durant looked tired in the first half, but seemed to come back in the second with a renewed energy. Durant has 13 points and three rebounds through three quarters.

Seattle's other rookie, Jeff Green, has been solid all game, going to the basket strong and rebounding well inside. Green also has 13 points and three rebounds. He needs to work on his free throws. Green is only 5-of-9 from the line.

Another close game in the fourth. Can they finish?

What a great game. Just a shame they couldn't pull it out. But great defense. great energy. Just a damn shame. It's coming though. It's coming.

Great game.

I was surprised to see Durant standing around on a lot of possessions this game. I thought he looked frustrated.

So close at the end! Great effort by Durant in the last two minutes there. The block on Boozer, the finish at the other end and the steal to almost come up with the tie.

If Durant would have dunked on the last shot rather than let the contact push him away the arena would have exploded!

The kid is barely 19! He is going to have a great year and I have no doubt he will be rookie of the year. I hope something can be figured out at point guard because I actually see that as the biggest problem with this team. Ridnour hasn't had much chance yet because they gave him a shitty mask. He lacks on the defense side but he is the best at running the offense and being able to shoot. WAtson is a better defender but can't shoot. West is probably the best defender but he turns the ball over too much and can't stay healthy. I hope PJ gives Ridnour more opportunity once that damn mask comes off! I think we can be pretty stable at center with Swift and Collison getting the majority of those minutes. If Swift can get somewhere near 100% healthy he will improve with playing time, and Collison is legit against most teams centers anyway. Remember, There's only one Shaq, and one Yao, and Detroit won the championship playing 2 power forwards in 2004!
