Post-Sonics Watch
Feeling lost without your Seattle SuperSonics? Seattle-area NBA fans face their first season without an NBA team in 41 years. Primarily, our coverage here will focus on the City of Seattle’s attempt to bring the NBA back to Seattle. But we also will provide updates on the Portland Trail Blazers, the Oklahoma City Thunder and area players plying their trade for other teams in the NBA.

Keeping an eye on the NBA and Seattle's efforts to get back into the game
Friday, January 11th, 2008
Posted by Eric Williams @ 08:52:19 pm

Seattle trails 44-35 at the half. The Sonics are struggling offensively for the same reason they've had trouble scoring points during this five-game losing streak -- too many perimeter jump shots.

Seattle is settling for jumpers instead of driving hard to the basket and either scoring or getting fouled. And they're setting up offensively too far away from the basket, making it harder to get into the lane.

Seattle's emphasis on the perimeter jumper has steadily brought the team's shooting percentage down. And because Seattle doesn't push the ball anymore they're having trouble getting easy buckets.

If Seattle wants to be successful in the second half they have to get to the basket and have better player and ball movement.

The Sonics have had the same problem for the last 8 years, with the exception of 2005 when Nate had the team playing his style of ball.

Now look at the Trailblazers. He has them playing his game.

Thanks Howard (& Walker) for selling us out. Thank you Bennett for getting rid of Walker, but F*You for trying to take our team, and thus our history, away and make it your own. Have you heard of the Hornet's struggles of late? Hey, why don't you sell the Sonics to local interests and take "your" Hornets back.

Or if your so big on the Spurs, buy them and re-locate them. You'll be screaming about losing money in 2 years either way, douche. Your puddle won't sustain a pro team at this point. Be happy with the Sooners.

Right on! Great comments! I keep hoping that Gay Bennett will burn out in his quest to buy his way out of the arena lease and just decide to sell the team. And hopefully the Hornets owner, George Shinn will get tired of the low attendance in New Orleans and sell that team to the Oklahomos!
