Post-Sonics Watch
Feeling lost without your Seattle SuperSonics? Seattle-area NBA fans face their first season without an NBA team in 41 years. Primarily, our coverage here will focus on the City of Seattle’s attempt to bring the NBA back to Seattle. But we also will provide updates on the Portland Trail Blazers, the Oklahoma City Thunder and area players plying their trade for other teams in the NBA.

Eric Williams covered the Sonics' last season in Seattle. A Tacoma native, Eric graduated from Mount Tahoma High and the University of Puget Sound.

Keeping an eye on the NBA and Seattle's efforts to get back into the game
Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

U.S. District Court Judge Marsha Pechman set a June 16 trial date in the federal court case between the City of Seattle and the Sonics.
The two sides are disputing the KeyArena lease. Read a short story about the date set here. I'll have more later.

So, the trial date is two months after the Sonics season ends, will the lawyers be in court while the moving vans are being loaded? I keep thinking of the pictures of moving trucks when the Colts were leaving Baltimore way back when. From the attitudes of the majority of people in this area, the NBA will not do anything to get another NBA team here anytime soon. I have officially changed my fantasy basketball team names ot the OKC Sonics, just getting prepared.

David Stern said he will not bring another team to Seattle if the Sonics leave. By even putting that city's abbrevation in front of Sonics, you must not be a real fan.
