Seattle SuperSonics chairman Clay Bennett talked at sports business conference at Oklahoma City University, and said he believes the public should help fund an arena for an NBA team that relocates to that city. "Unlike maybe a handful of individuals building the building that would never see any of it back, they might perhaps rationalize some benefit to the company, but the broad benefit really goes to the community, and not just intangibles,” Bennett said.

This is the same benefit Seattle would get by the Sonics staying here. How can he say the Sonics would have zero effect on Seattle if they leave then say the Sonics would have such a positive effect in OKC if they go there? Talking out of both sides of his mouth.
Like any player would buy a house in OKC. They'll rent a condo then get out of town as soon as the season is over. Comments are not allowed from anonymous visitors. Please login or register to comment. |
