Keeping an eye on the NBA and Seattle's efforts to get back into the game
Wednesday, June 11th, 2008
Posted by Eric Williams @ 02:22:45 pm

In a move that further shows the Seattle SuperSonics' impending departure to Oklahoma City, the NBA switched the team's NBA Development League affiliate from the Idaho Stampede to the Tulsa 66ers.

Tulsa is about 100 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.

The Sonics had been affiliated with the Idaho Stampede since 2005, and shared that affiliation with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Now the Blazers and the Toronto Raptors, a team nearly 2,000 miles from Boise, will share affiliation with the Idaho Stampede, while the Sonics and Milwaukee Bucks will share affiliation with Tulsa.

This is a statement by the OKC Sonics. They're determined to play next season in Tornado Alley. Apparently cost is not a consideration for Bennett and his cohorts, undoubtedly because Stern has assured the OKC ownership group that they have his complete support, including underwriting the millions of dollars they'll leave in Seattle with the city and its legal community.
The real danger for the OKC Sonics is that the Tulsa 66ers, aka the Idaho Stampede, may come up with a point guard and a post player and embarrass the hell out of their parent club.

Like that would not be hard to do (Embarrass their old club) Hell a high school team could "Embarrass their old club".

We all know that David Stern is a puke and that the NBA has suffered a large drop in their fan base because they have exchanged the integrity of the sport for the entertainment value selling tickets etc...this commissioner has got to go. I miss the days of watching pure talent and not a selfish ball hog like Kobe "I didn't rape her" Bryant. The way they try to shove these "stars" down our throat etc...I miss a dynamic duo like Kemp & Payton or Malone & Stockton or Jordon & Pippen. This is a sad day of affairs to be an NBA fan.

My hope is that Seattle makes an example out of the NBA and that they bleed millions in losses. Stern already said he won't allow another team here so; what do we have to loose?
