Keeping an eye on the NBA and Seattle's efforts to get back into the game
Tuesday, June 24th, 2008
Posted by Eric Williams @ 04:32:09 pm

The Sonics filed a motion to exclude Seattle deputy mayor Tim Ceis' testimony in the city's trial against the team.

Attorneys for the city had planned to call Ceis as a rebuttal witness on Thursday to counter Friday's testimony that suggests the city may have been involved in a "Poisoned Well" plan to make the Sonics bleed money with the hope that the Oklahoma City-based owners would sell to a private, local investment group.

The Sonics claim in Tuesday's filing that Ceis would not answer questions about members of K&L Gates, the law firm representing the city in the case, and their involvement with potential private investors interested in keeping basketball in Seattle.

Here's an excerpt from the filing:

"The city should not be allowed to now ambush the PBA on the last day of trial by impliedly waiving this same privilege in its questioning of Ceis."

This trial is sounding more and more like just a bunch of liars trying to have it there way. We know that city authorities are liars, now we are finding out so are the Sonics. The sad part is no matter who wins the fight over losers there will be no winners in the fight itself. Oh of course if you want to declare victory when whatever side wins and gets to keep the loser Sonics lol This whole carnival courtroom is a joke not to mention that Ceis could be doing something a little more constructive for the people he supposedly represents. After watching last season of loser basketball do the Idiots at city hall even expect that the coming year anyone is even gonna go to any basketball games to watch losers play and a team with a limited amount of games? They can't be this dumb can they?
