A few dining events in the near future:

May 30: Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church will host a Greek Taverna meal with appetizers, entrees, desserts, beer and wine. They advertise that nothing will cost more than $5. The event will be 11 a.m.-8 p.m. May 30 at the church, 1523 S. Yakima Ave. The event is free, except for the cost of food purchases. www.stnicholastacoma.org

May 30: Wilcox Farms in Roy, in conjunction with Tacoma Reads Together, will host a free omelet feed from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 30. Guided tours will be given, too. The farm is located at 40400 Harts Lake Valley Road, Roy. Members of the Wilcox family will cook the omelets. the family-operated farm, a fourth-generation business, celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. For details, visit www.wilcoxfarms.com

May 31: The Puyallup-Sumner Chamber of Commerce will have its first roving dinner through downtown Puyallup from 4:30-8:30 p.m. May 31. The Moveable Feast starts at 4:30 p.m. with a glass of wine at Northwest Vintage. Participants then board a bus that will take them to DeCaterina’s for a grilled endive with melted gorgonzola and prosciutto appetizer. next stop is Hungry Goose Bistro for a soup and salad course. Next stop is Mama Stortini's Ristorante for the main course. The final stop is Indulge Cupcakes for dessert. Tickets are $45. Money raised will support chamber programs. June 13: The Tacoma Symphony Orchestra will have its second annual Celebrity Chefs Showcase at 5:30 p.m. June 13. This year’s event is a black tie picnic with food prepared by chefs who have been paired with South Sound farmers. Chefs will prepare the meal using ingredients from the farms. The event will be held at the Sharon McGavick Conference Center, Clover Park Technical College, Lakewood. Tickets are $150. For more information, call 253-272-7264.
